P&C Newsletter – Term 2, Week 8, 2024 – South Coogee Public School Parents and Community

Welcome to Term 8! We are almost half way through the year and have achieved so much yet still have so much to look forward to. Firstly, a shout out for our wonderful Mothers Day celebration, the beautiful feedback we received from our parent community made everyone’s efforts so worth while. The gift stall was such a success that not only offered our children the opportunity to purchase some beautiful gifts but also raised a massive $3000 towards numeracy for the school. A huge thank you to all the Dads who ran the BBQ and provided all the mums (and others) with a delicious breakfast and the morning off from cooking!

UPCOMING EVENTS

Our next event coming up is the infamous Trivia event which will be held on Friday 28th June from 7pm until 11.30pm at The Juniors in Kingsford in The Wintle Theatre and hosted by the hilarious James Breko. You do not want to miss this night! The fancy dress theme is ABC and each table will have their own letter – use your imagination and be in it to win it! Our epic prizes include Manhattan family bowling pass, Archibald vouchers, First Education tutoring worth $500, Little Kitchen x 2 $50, Annandale Hotel x $100 voucher, Fe.Box package, Heffron Tennis vouchers, Art Gallery of NSW tickets and more! We have two more important dates to remember for your calendar, the Fathers Day breakfast on Friday 30th August and the return of the gift stall to offer our children to purchase some fantastic gifts that they lovingly choose themselves. And Grandparents Day on the 28th October. More details to follow shortly.

And saving our epic Fiesta event to last, put the 16th of November in your diaries. This event brings our whole community together and as it is our first one in five years, it is back, bigger than ever! We encourage everyone to volunteer is possible, it takes a huge amount of effort to organise an event like this and there are jobs for everyone!

UNIFORM SHOP

The Uniform Shop is open with all second hand and new items available for sale. There is now size 18 girls winter pants available too. All orders that are received during the week will be delivered to your child’s classroom each Friday and please remember to add your child’s name and class in the notes section to make delivery easier. The uniform shop is open on Tuesday and Friday from 8.30-9.30am. We always need new volunteers to keep this amazing service operating, so if you can help please email the shop below or just pop in and speak to Kylie and Karen.
