Welcome to all of our returning parents and carers, and a big welcome to all of our new families joining SCPS this year.
The South Coogee Public School P&C (Parents & Citizens) is a group of parents and carers who are committed to supporting our children and their school through a wide range of engaging programs and fun social activities.
We have already lots of events planned this year and we can’t wait to see you!

WELCOME BBQ
Thank you to everyone who volunteered at our welcome BBQ, and to everyone that stopped by to say hello. Thanks as always to Peters Meats who give us a great price on their premium sausages! We hope everyone enjoyed and got lots of information from meeting their teacher.
WORKING BEE
Massive thanks to everyone that helped tidy up the gardens around the outdoor kitchen. The area looks fantastic and lessons are starting, so expect some budding chefs to be coming home!
P&C AGM and MEETING
We held our first P&C meeting / AGM last week and I am pleased to announce our new Executive Team for 2025:

Our next P&C meeting is on Wednesday 12 March in the school library. We will not be zooming the P&C meetings this year, but we really encourage people to come along in person. We do provide drinks and nibbles as an added incentive / bribe! It is a great way to meet the school and P&C Exec, share any ideas and learn what is in the pipeline.
APPS AND COMMS
There are a plethora of apps and ways the school and P&C communicate with our community. Unfortunately not one platform fits all methods, so please make sure you are across the various mediums.
- Audiri – one off messages, urgent comms, newsletters from the school. Also some P&C information and a calendar of the school year.
- Schoolbytes – any information that needs permissions, signing off etc. Also where you’ll find any personalised comms – school fees, excursions etc. This is a website, not an app!
- Flexischools – Canteen ordering
- Xplor – OOSH communications
UNIFORM SHOP
The uniform shop really need some more helpers, they are open on Tuesday and Friday 8.30-9.30am. If you cannot commit every week, that is fine. If you can offer an hour here and there, that is also fine. At the moment there are only 2 people assisting, and it is getting increasingly difficult for them to run the shop, take the online orders and pack them to classes without more hands. Numberworx n Words – Eastgardens
Learn to Earn at Numberworx. NumberWorks’nWords is an after-school tutoring company that provides specialist tuition to build students’ confidence and improve their math and English results. Tuition complements the work done at school, following the Australian curriculum, and our teaching methods are compatible with those used in the classroom. Teaching is one-on-one, with each tutor looking after up to three students. It allows for individual instruction plus independent practice, creating a confident learner in the classroom. This is a method that has been fine-tuned over the last 40 years and has proven to be both effective and enjoyable. We have thousands of successful past students around the world who demonstrate it!
All enrolments to Numberworx from SCPS generate income back to the school, so please mention us 🙂
ENTERTAINMENT BOOK
Purchase an entertainment book, and the school gets 20% of the proceeds. The Entertainment book (well App really these days) offers thousands of discounts to a wide variety of retailers from food, entertainment, travel and more.
