Hello Parents and Carers,
Term 3 has a lot of exciting events coming up, and thank you in advance to everyone that has signed up to help. We really appreciate every minute. Please take a read of the newsletter and let us know if you have any questions… as always you can reach out to the P&C at scps.pandc@gmail.com
Term 3 Events
As you may know, Term 3 has a few events planned for the P&C and we would love some volunteers to help raise funds and make these events a success. There is a job for everyone, whether you can spare 45 mins to help with book fair one day, fancy throwing some snags on the BBQ for Father’s Day, or want to help sell cakes at book parade to guarantee yourself a front seat (seats are reserved for volunteers to watch their child parade). Band, choir and music parents please consider helping at Musicale, all funds raised funnel straight back to the music programme.
Links are below, please pop your name down for something if you can 🙏💙
Book Fair – 18-22 August https://signup.com/go/KREjPdO (only 1 FRIDAY AFTERNOON spot remaining!)

A reminder of some ways you can generate funds for the P&C through our affiliates
Numberworx n Words – Eastgardens
Learn to Earn at Numberworx. NumberWorks’nWords is an after-school tutoring company that provides specialist tuition to build students’ confidence and improve their math and English results. Tuition complements the work done at school, following the Australian curriculum, and our teaching methods are compatible with those used in the classroom. Teaching is one-on-one, with each tutor looking after up to three students. It allows for individual instruction plus independent practice, creating a confident learner in the classroom. This is a method that has been fine-tuned over the last 40 years and has proven to be both effective and enjoyable. We have thousands of successful past students around the world who demonstrate it!
All enrolments to Numberworx from SCPS generate income back to the school, so please mention us when signing up!
ENTERTAINMENT BOOK
Purchase an entertainment book, and the school gets 20% of the proceeds. The Entertainment book (well App really these days) offers thousands of discounts to a wide variety of retailers from food, entertainment, travel and more.
Currently they are running an offer – purchase a membership and receive a $30 Visa Gift card AND an upgrade to multi City (worth $50). Father’s Day gift idea perhaps!? This offer ends 21 August so do not delay!!

The P&C (Parents and Community)
Our next P&C meeting will be held on 3 September in the school library. As always, everyone is welcome and we would love to see some new faces. Here are some insights in to who we are and why we exist!
The P&C has three key objectives:
Fundraising
This is a major focus for us. Last year, we proudly donated around $80,000 back to the school—an incredible achievement that directly supports facilities, resources, and opportunities for students. Every contribution matters, whether you’re leading an event, volunteering your time, or simply showing up. Your involvement makes a real difference, without fundraising the resources on offer will dwindle!
Building Connections
We aim to strengthen the relationship between parents, citizens, and school staff. These meetings are a vital space to share ideas, raise concerns, and collaborate for the benefit of our children.
Fostering Community
We’re passionate about creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where families feel connected and engaged. Your participation helps build that sense of belonging.
Why get involved?
Being part of the P&C gives you a voice in school matters, supports your child’s education, helps you develop new skills, and keeps you informed. Plus—it’s genuinely rewarding and yes, even fun!
We’re always looking for new volunteers, and with many of our Executive team sadly moving on in 2026, now is a great time to step up. Whether you’re interested in joining the Exec Team or helping out in a way that suits your schedule—like grant writing from home, leading an event you’re passionate about, or assisting with social media, website updates, or graphic design—there’s a place for everyone.
Even if volunteering isn’t possible right now, attending meetings and events is a fantastic way to stay involved and connected.

Your current P&C Executive Commitee are:
President – Helen Randall
Vice Presidents – Melissa Bramich and Leane Economou
Treasurer – Kelly Rewi
Secretary – Leanne Whitaker
General Members – Jodie Steele, Jenny Connell, Jacqui Busby, Jane Holloway, Simon Griffin, Mel Cole
As always, you can reach us at any time with suggestions, feedback or questions at scps.pandc@gmail.com
See you at event coming soon,
Your P&C
