Hi everyone,

Uniform News
Second Hand Uniform Sale UPDATE
Unfortunately we have to postpone the 2nd hand uniform sale. New Department Guidelines have come out around Covid restrictions, meaning we cannot comply. The P&C and Uniform Shop will work together to assist with making second hand uniforms more accessible. Thanks for your understanding.
Uniform clarification:
A query was recently raised regarding the difference between girls and boys uniforms. The question was “Can the girls wear the grey pants or dress instead of the plaid material, as it is often less expensive and easier to obtain?”.
We have spoken to the school, and the answer is yes.
The key note to understand however is that whatever uniform option you choose, it must be the current approved uniform (see options below) – no mix and matching items from the different options.
In regards to the tunic/skirt, they must be in the official plaid material. No substituting for a plain grey design.
So that means the options for our school uniform is as follows:
SUMMER UNIFORM OPTIONS
- Sky blue short-sleeved shirt, grey school shorts, grey socks
- School blue and white striped short sleeved shirt, navy blue culottes, white socks
- School blue and white striped dress, white socks
WINTER UNIFORM OPTIONS
- Sky blue long-sleeved shirt or sky blue skivvy, grey school long trousers, grey socks
- School plaid tunic (can also be worn as a skirt only), school sky blue long sleeved shirt OR sky blue skivvy, grey socks OR stockings
- School plaid pants, school sky blue long sleeved shirt OR sky blue skivvy, grey socks
SPORTS UNIFORM
- Sky blue short sleeved polo, royal blue shorts or skort
- Sky blue short sleeved polo, royal blue tracksuit pants or bootleg long sports pants
ADDITIONAL UNIFORM ITEMS
- Royal blue wide brimmed hat
- Royal blue jumper or button up cardigan
- Black Shoes – trainers or leather
So essentially all students can wear either the current ‘boys’ uniform OR the current ‘girls’ uniform, but no actual changes to the uniform can be made.
Fundraising in Term 3
It was discussed and agreed at the recent P&C Meeting that we would focus on online fundraising and community opportunities in Term 3.
To coincide with Keep Australia Beautiful Week, starting this week Monday 17th August, we will be running a Beeswax Food Wraps Fundraiser!
The wonderful folks at Bee Wrappy, are supporting the school by offering us Beeswax Wrap 3 Packs for $25 RRP. $11 from every pack sold comes back to the school, and we’re reducing single use plastic in our community at the same time! How good is that!
We will send out order forms this week, and will have online PayPal payment option as well as cash payment. We’ll run the fundraiser for 2 weeks, ending Monday 31st August, so all orders and payments must be in by this date.
Please feel free to talk to your friends, neighbours, grandparents… whoever! to get involved. Anyone can order a pack, but we will be encouraging one order form per SCPS family so it doesn’t get too hard to distribute packs when they arrive. Please make sure your friends and family are ordering via your order form, with one payment being made to the school per form.
Additionally, at the end of term we will be running a Cookie Dough Fundraiser, with the dough being distributed in the last week of the term ready for School Holiday baking projects 😊
More details to come in the next newsletter!
Pick Up/Parking
Please be aware that it is now a No Parking Zone on the school side of Macleay St between 2.30pm – 4pm. That said, please be courteous to other drivers, particularly those who need to cross Tucabia Street, or turn right from Macleay. Let people in where you can to assist with overall traffic flow.

School Sponsors & Supporters
We’d like to start highlighting those who support the school and the P&C, especially those who do it regularly or under the radar. In this newsletter we’d like to acknowledge the wonderful work that The Athletes Foot in Eastgardens do, which is co-owned by parents of the school, The Elliot’s.
The school is a part of The Athlete’s Foot Eastgardens School Rewards Program and they recently provided Mrs Fisher with the vouchers from the School Rewards program.
“It’s always a pleasure to see families from the school community in store at The Athlete’s Foot Eastgardens. We are pleased to be able to support the school community during these challenging time in the form of vouchers.”
The Athlete’s Foot School Rewards program:
$5 from every pair of shoes purchased is donated to South Coogee Public School. This applies to the whole family across our entire range of school, sports, work and casual shoes. Simply mention South Coogee Public School when purchasing.
A wonderful programme, and hugely appreciated by us all.
Until next time,
Your P&C
