The first event of the term will be the Mother’s Day breakfast on Friday 12th May 8-9am,  followed by open classrooms so parents and carers can have a look at their child’s learning environments and work.

For all the guys, we really need some volunteers to run the breakfast BBQ – so please sign up for an hour or so.  Lets raise some funds for the school and show the Mum’s our appreciation.

Please ensure you RSVP to the event here: https://forms.gle/tD19up6MQHZ7ajyB9

This event is run by the school and will talk about what is happening in the classrooms, the visible learning programme and curriculum for both K-2 and 3-6.

K-2 Cross Country – Wednesday 17th May

The Junior Cross Country will be held at Latham Park on 17th May between 9-12pm.  Volunteers to assist guide the runners are required, please see note in School Bytes.

Easter Activities

The team have been fundraising for new readers for K-2, which are much needed as I am sure any junior parents will agree!  Led by Jacqui Busby and Melissa Bramich, a Bunnings Easter BBQ and raffle, and cake stall at the Easter Hat parade have been great successes.  Along with generous parent donations, we are very close to reaching the $4000 target.  We will be donating a cheque to the school at the P&C meeting next week, if anyone else would like to contribute you can do so here, thanks to all of those who have contributed:

Election BBQ

The Election BBQ and raffle was run to raise funds for the Year 6 Graduation at the end of the year.  It was a massive success and we managed to raise in excess of $11,000!!!  Thank you so much to everyone who contributed – purchased raffle tickets, helped on the day on the BBQ and stalls, baked cakes, donated prizes and a special thanks to Ellise Andreacchio who coordinated the online sales.  Congratulations to all of our winning raffle ticket holders, I hope you enjoy your prizes!

For all Year 6 parents, the graduation dinner has been confirmed for 13 December so save the date!

SCPS once again participated in the Coogee Dawn Service, and a special ANZAC assembly was held at the school.  Both events were very moving, and the choir performed magnificently.

Until next time,
