P&C Newsletter Term 1, Week 5

P&C AGM & Executive EOI

The P&C AGM is in Week 7, Wednesday 11th March at 7pm in the library.

We encourage as many people to attend this meeting as possible as it is your opportunity to become a full member of the P&C, giving you the right to vote on any matter that comes up throughout the year.

To become a financial member of the P&C, please bring $1 to the meeting as your membership fee for the year. Once you have become a paid member you are eligible to vote on the night for the new Executive Team, as well as any other vote that is put forward for the year.

We are still looking for Executive Members to be on the team. This is an extremely rewarding role, where you can make a real difference to the school and get to know our amazing community better.

All roles are open for vote, so please consider putting your hat in the ring! Given the recent interest from our wonderful parents and carers, in particular we are seeking someone interested in the Secretary role. All role descriptions can be found in the link below. Twilight Cinema South Coogee – Aladdin

Get transported away to a magical land during our amazing outdoor evening, including a viewing of the 2019 real life remake of Aladdin! This is a community event, all welcome, invite your friends and family (but please leave your fur babies at home).

We are looking for volunteers for the event to help staff the BBQ, Treat Stall, Pizza, Entry/tickets, Popcorn, Fairy Floss, Toy Stall and various other activities. Please sign up using the link below:

Class Lists

Hopefully you’ve all got your class lists from your Class Parent Reps now, or if not have been contacted to get your details. If you didn’t fill out the class list online and wish to be on the list please contact your Class Parent Rep or email scps.pandc@gmail.com

I’m also putting together the committee lists, so if you did put your name down for a committee or event someone will be in touch soon.


Grandparents Day, Easter Raffle Sales, Scholastic Book Fair!

Grandparents Day is on Monday 6th April this year. This includes Open Classrooms for K-6 at 9.10am, and a K-2 assembly afterwards.

The P&C, lead by Y1 & 2, will be putting on a morning tea at 11am for all the students and Grandparents/Carers. We will be requesting sweet and savoury treats closer to the time. All donations warmly welcomed.

All food items will be between $1 and $3 depending on size, juice poppers will be $2, and the tea/coffee will be complimentary.

There will also be some amazing Easter Hampers up for grabs! Buy your raffle tickets to be in the draw to win! This was super popular last year, and such a great addition to the day. Raffle will be drawn during the Easter Hat Parade on Thursday 9th April (last day of term).

Finally, Scholastic Book Fair starts that day as well, and runs the whole week. Grandparents love buying books for their grandbabies 😊 More details to come on open times etc.

Please ensure you join our P&C Facebook Group for this reason. Make sure you answer the 3 questions in full please, so we know you are legitimately from the school. If you don’t see those 3 questions or don’t get approved within 48 hours please send an email to scps.pandc@gmail.com and we’ll look into it.
