HOME SCHOOLING SURVEY
Thank you for your feedback in our recent ’Parent – Learning From Home’ survey on your experience of learning at home and the resources our school is providing. This survey is an important part of our evaluation and planning process. The teachers and learners will have surveys shortly. Thank you for engaging and sharing your thoughts. We have read through all comments taking into consideration the varied range of ideas and opinion. We will take all observations into further ‘Learning From Home’ planning. Below are our parent responses.

I would like to continue emphasising that you stay in touch with school updates through Skoolbag as a main point of contact. Additionally, as we continue to create fun and engaged remote learning, we would encourage families to connect with each other so that your children can have ‘social’ interactions with their friends. We know our children need to see their friends faces in any way they can.
We are very thankful to our entire South Coogee PS staff who are working extremely hard to continue to deliver remote learning. We are always thankful for the positive messages from families. As I have mentioned before, please be kind to yourselves. Your home is not the classroom, and we do not expect it to be run in the same way. As parents balancing your own work and home life, I would encourage you to support your children to complete as much or as little as they can from the activities offered by teachers without argument or stress. Our teachers are professional educators and have years of experience. If you need support with your child’s learning expectations, please contact your child’s class teacher directly. Also please keep an eye out for NO CALLER ID, it will probably be your class teacher trying to call.
CLASS ACTIVITIES
The P&C would like to encourage Class Parents to connect with parents with online events, it’s a great way for a social event in these crazy times. Some ideas:
- Zoom drinks and nibbles, break in to smaller breakout rooms to chat
- Wine tasting – https://www.robdolanwines.com.au/product/yarra-valley-heroes-virtual-wine-tasting/ or https://debeaurepairewines.com/virtualexperiences for example
- Footy Tipping Comp for finals
- Trivia app such as Sporcle or Kahoot, play via the app on zoom. BYO drinks and nibbles.
- Pinot and Picasso – https://www.pinotandpicasso.com.au/virtual-function/
- Virtual dinner party
