Just like that we are well over half way through the last term of 2021! Christmas will be here before we know it, which means it is time to get ordering those trees and puddings!
UPCOMING EVENTS
Make sure you get involved in our Christmas fundraiser, orders are closing THIS FRIDAY so please share this initiative with anyone looking to purchase a real tree this year. Did you know having a real tree has a significantly lower carbon footprint than an artificial one, plus a new tree is planted for every one that fulfils its Christmas destiny 😊 ? A single Christmas tree can absorb up to 1 ton of carbon dioxide over its life time, with one acre providing enough oxygen for 18 people every day. More Christmas trees being grown at any one time means more much-needed clean area being produced from our Christmas tree forests, preventing the earth-warming “greenhouse effect”.
Randwick council will be collecting the used Christmas trees for free with your green waste in January.

Christmas Trees
Our real tree’s will be approx. 6ft tall and priced at $85 per tree. You can also purchase tree stands if necessary. Orders must be placed by Friday 19th November via www.schooltrees.com.au Please select South Coogee on check out, and trees will be delivered to the school on Sunday 5th December. You can collect the tree from school between 8am and 12pm on the 5th, or we will be arranging delivery to the local area separately nearer the time if you cannot transport the tree! Delivery will be $25 per tree, within 5km of the school or Randwick LGA.
Christmas Puddings
Again, orders are placed via www.schooltrees.com.au, with the latest order date being 19 November for delivery on 5 December to the school. There are a wide range of puddings to choose from, priced around the $30 mark.
Please note these sales are open to the public, so please share far and wide, with family, colleagues etc. We would love to get some funds for the school before the end of the year. Ensure they know to select South Coogee school when purchasing!
Election Day BBQ
The Randwick Council elections are being held on Saturday 4th December. The school will be acting as a polling centre and we will be looking for volunteers to man the BBQ and cake stall.
P&C 2021 / 2022
P&C meeting is scheduled for 7pm this Wednesday 17th November. We will be having a final meeting in week 10 of term to say thank you to everyone for their efforts this year. We are hoping to do this in person, stand by for more details.
