P&C Newsletter – Term 4, Week 1

Hello Parents and Carers, welcome to Term 4. Where did this year go!?

Lots of events planned for this term, so its a great time to get involved with the school community and if you havent yet volunteered to help out this is your opportunity!

Twilight Cinema – Friday 21st October

Finally the much anticipated Twilight Cinema can go ahead after a couple of years of postponement. This is the first major fundraiser since pre covid and we are super excited to be back hosting large scale events. The cinema will be open to all, so invite friends, family and neighbours!

The movie will be Sing 2, and all profits will go towards purchasing much needed chromebooks for the school. Currently we are short, and classes are having to share… with a successful fundraiser we can supply enough to meet the kids needs which will be fantastic.

Tickets can be purchased here: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/twilight-cinema-south-coogee-sing-2-tickets-426563110747

This is a massive event and we need all hands on deck, please please consider volunteering to ensure the night is a success. Many hands make light work, and if you haven’t had the chance to volunteer this year as yet this is your chance to give back 🙂 If you cannot help on the night, we also need plenty of people to assist in the day to pick up rolls, sausages, ice etc. Lots of options to help on stalls, event set up, event pack down, door tickets etc etc. Something for everyone…. link to sign up is here: https://signup.com/go/LFWGVcV

Jump Rope for Heart

Great news – South Coogee PS is participating in Jump Rope for Heart – a fantastic physical activity and fundraising program that the Heart Foundation has been running for 40 years. It’s a great way for your child to keep fit and learn new skills, but it also helps raise funds for vital heart research and education programs.

Since Jump Rope for Heart started in 1983, schools like ours have raised more than $104 million for the Heart Foundation’s lifesaving work.

Students will be skipping throughout the term in PE classes and during their lunch breaks. During this time you can share your fundraising page with family and friends to help raise money for this great cause.

We will hold our school Jump Off Day on Tuesday, November 15th. This will mark the end of the program and is a chance for students to show off their newly learned skills.

To make fundraising fun and easy, you can create your own secure webpage at jumprope.org.au

Sign up to share your child’s progress and let the funds roll in. Your child can earn virtual badges along the way and your page will highlight the prizes up for grabs.

Thank you for supporting the Jump Rope for Heart program!
